O.T.W. Maggie Goes to the Lake

Our good friend, DJ, was kind enough to host us for the weekend.

Friday evening DJ (real name Daniel) was the live entertainment at Chuck's Marina on Lake Martin. Chuck's has a great atmosphere. It's right on the lake (obviously being a marina and all) has great pizza, and live music or karaoke depending on the night.

Wade loves a good time! And dancing with Deidra.

Love Birds
DJ did awesome and we all had a great time!

Saturday morning we got up early and decided to head back down to DJ's lake cabin for a day of fun in the sun.

Maggie didn't want to stay behind so we decided to load her up and take her with us! She loved it.

The anticipation was killing Maggie

We ventured out on the lake to Chimney Rock for a portion of the day and spent the rest of the day hanging out at the cabin.

Kyle and Jennifer

Saturday evening we went to dinner at Niffers on the Lake where more live music and fun ensued.

Sunday morning I was up with sun insisting everyone load up, as it was time to head home! (I'm not so sure I was the most loved person at that point, but I woke up ready to go) Glass half full-- we did see the sun come up.

Sunday was spent laying around watching movies and napping.

Weekend perfection, I'd say.

O.T.W. -- Celebrations Galore

Last weekend was jammed packed!!

Friday night we hosted an farewell BBQ at our house for our friend, Champ. He recently took a job in Kentucky and last weekend was his last in town. I felt like we had to have some sort of send off, so that's just what we did.
Champ Saying Bye!

At one point, we each told our favorite Champ memory. It was too funny!

Champ, I know you sometimes read Stage Fright Jitters so if you're reading this I hope your new job is going great and that you have a hot secretary!

Saturday morning we were up early. Ali and Jackson spent the weekend with us, which is always fun.

So Ali and I hopped up, tossed on our swim suits and headed to the pool. A quick call to Deidra and she was there too!
Ali doing the perfect dive.

Yours Truly praying I don't land on my ass doing a front flip

We only got to enjoy the fun of the pool for a short time because we had a wedding to get ready to attend.

Saturday night we cleaned up for Hadley and Kris's wedding. It was quite the lake affair!

We feasted on crab cakes made right in front of us, prime rib, cheeses of all kinds, fruit galore, and of course, I enjoyed both the groom's and bride's cake. Perfection!

Kaci and Bess

We danced and laughed, but my favorite part of the evening was when we saw the couple off. As they departed on a fancy yacht we lit Chinese Lanterns to cast in to the evening sky. It was so romantic.

It was the perfect ending to their night.

On Sunday, Ryan and I hit up all the family gathering in honor of our Dads and Granddads. We are lucky enough to have some pretty awesome men in our family. I have quite the fondness in my heart for my sweet daddy!

Busy weekends are great. We have lots of fun, but I'm looking forward to having a weekend in the near future that is a little less fast paced!!

Kiddos

This past Saturday I stopped by to see my sweet little cousins, Kylee and Heath. I had the grand idea to take a group picture. Turns out, it's tough to get a almost two year old and four year old on the same page. This is just a few of the many attempts. Top right picture absolutely makes me laugh out loud!!

Happy Hump Day!

O.T.W. Jazzy Jazz and Wedding Fun

Whew, let's talk about how this Monday is treating me, shall we? Not only is it raining, it was my day to walk the dog in this mess, I was late to work, and after pouring my coffee and saying good morning to most of my co-workers I was informed that I had my shirt on inside out. Ridic.

Ahhh, but that's the kind of crazy that happens after a weekend like the one we just had.

Ryan was in a wedding this weekend for one of his best friends from his hometown so he took off to Birmingham (as that's where the festivities would be held) on Friday morning.

I stayed behind Friday night for our local Jazz Fest. It makes for a fun night, as people come back home for good music and fun.

With Deidra and Lacey

Saturday I laid around for a bit before I had to get ready to head to Birmingham to attend the wedding! This got a little hairy because I thought the wedding was at 7:00 when in actuality it was at 6:00. I had to do some MAJOR hustling but I pulled it off and walked in to the wedding right before the grandmother's. Borderline looked like I was a part of the wedding party.

It was intense.

The wedding was in downtown Birmingham, followed by a beautiful reception at the historic Alabama Theater.
First Dance

With Amanda and Ali-- aren't they so pretty?

Ryan looks quite dashing in a tux. Most handsome one there!

It was all so pretty. After seeing the lovely couple off we walked over to The Rooftop Bar at the Redmont Hotel.

It was an action packed weekend spent with good friends. Any weekend with live music and dancing is perfect weekend in my opinion!!

Here's to making it to Friday (and actually being properly dressed each day)!

Special thanks to my sweet Aunt Elaine, who happens to be a Stella & Dot Consultant and decked me out in some of her pretty jewelry.  I love Stella and Dot  and have been working on building up a nice collection, but she has lots to choose from. I wore the beautiful Femme Fatale Necklace,  Petra Braided Bracelet,  and the Nouvelle Cocktail Ring. Also toted one of the Stella & Dot Clutches. I was feeling fancy and got lots of compliments!

Don't Dim the Brights

Currently loving....

Essie's new neon collection, Poopy Razzi. Perfect for summer. Super bright and tons of fun!
source

I started with the pink color called, LIGHTS!

I'm really feeling it. Can't wait to test out the others! This article offered a great piece of advice when painting your nails with a neon hue for summer-- Always start out with a white base coat, such as Essie's Blanc, because Neons tend to dry dimmer than they appear in the bottle. Noted.

Movie Date with my Main Man

Last night Ryan and I went to see Snow White and Huntsman.

I've wanted to go see this movie all weekend, but we just couldn't seem to fit it in. We decided that a Monday night date night was in order.

I loved it! Click here to read the NY Times review. It's pretty much right on.

The movie was a darker version of the classic fairy tale. And YES, the movie does feature the beloved dwarfs. Just so you know, they are indeed in the movie.

At the end of the day go see the movie if for nothing else Chris Hemsworth aka Thor aka The Huntsman.

I mean, really, go see it because he's in it. He's so handsome.

I loved him as Thor, and I think he still, hands down, looks the best in Thor, but I will take him with the darker locks and more slender bod of the Huntsman.

Charlize Theron kills it as the crazy evil stepmother/Queen. Awesome villain that one. Not to mention beautiful.

Surprisingly, Kristen Stewart didn't ruin the movie. I loathe her in the Twilight movies (or any interview/award show she does) so I was a little uneasy about her being Snow White, but it actually worked.

Again, it was good. Go see it. If for nothing else, like I mentioned above, go for this guy:

You won't regret it.
