Football is Upon Us!

I get excited about Christmas and Birthdays. My husband gets excited about football and more football.

We got the NFL ticket this year... ask me if I care. Ryan on the other hand keeps telling people to come over because, hes' got all the games.

Good Ole Cam!

Auburn Football is what I care about and it kicks off tomorrow... against Clemson... in the GA Dome.

We will surely have the grilled fired up, pom poms in hand, and ready to kick off the season!!

The Right Idea

With the weather today being overcast and gloomy I find myself longing to be back in the bed. Under the covers, curled up, watching a movie.

Wouldn't that be awesome?

Maggie has the right idea, for sure.

Speaking of Maggie she got a fresh new do yesterday and is looking good! Ready for football season, I suppose.

Happy Hump Day!

Running Late (pre usual)

I'm always running late. I rush and rush until life's no fun. Not really. Life is fun. I just wanted to insert some Alabama lyrics into the mix.

In all honesty I do tend to run late. Now, I'm not like some of my friends who are way late (often), I'm tend to be about ten minutes behind schedule.

A lot of this probably has to do with being unorganized, but alas my total type B personality cannot seem to care about getting and staying organized.

This doesn't usually cause any real troubles. For the most part it simply equates to Ryan complaining about how we're never on time... always in a hurry. But even then once we arrive at our destination he moves on from it.

Well, this weekend I messed myself up big time with my rushing and running late nonsense.

As I was getting ready to head to the family reunion I realized I needed to put a fresh coat of polish on my toes. No big deal. I grabbed a pink color and painted my toes. I then moved on to drying my hair. Somewhere in the midst of painting my toes and drying my hair I messed up my right big toe. Once again, not that big of a deal, except at this point I was running low on time and moving quickly. In a haste I removed polish from said big toe and proceeded to get the polish to repaint. Somewhere between point A (getting polish) and B (applying polish) I got side tracked.

Roughly thirty minutes into the Family Reunion I looked down only to notice this nonsense:

Shit.

That big toe went unpainted for two days because I just could NOT remember to work it out and paint the thing. And when I did think about it... I was already ten minutes late for something.

Catching Up Post...(not an original title)

I'm way behind on my blogging. Some times in life we just have to live in the present without regard to blog content. Right?

So here's a catching up post for you.

A couple of weekends ago Ali came to town and spent the weekend with Ryan and I. We had cocktails, shopped,  feasted on sushi and enjoyed more cocktails.
clockwise: Ali and I at Chuck's, Ryan and I in our matching shirts, the most obnoxiously in love couple ever, and dinner

The following Monday (Aug. 20) we had a Mexican Fiesta for Deidra, as she turned another year older!

Lacey, moi, Deidra

Chips and salsa, a good ole margarita, and good people is a winning combination for me (and Deidra's birthday).

Over this past weekend I attended a family reunion on my Dad's side of the family. It was so great to get to hear the different stories of my dad and his siblings and cousins growing up (the spread of home cooked goodness wasn't too shabby either).
Random pic of some of the cows on our farm, Aunt Celia, Uncle John, Dad

After the reunion we rode by our farm for a little bit. My Uncle John has built an outhouse (just for fun).

And it's not your typical outhouse... he made sure it was a double-seater.

He's also included a 1994 Sears Catalog for one's reading pleasure.

Hilarious.

Sunday was my sweet mama's birthday so we celebrated!

I handled the side dishes (twice baked potatoes, 7 layer salad, homemade chocolate pound cake) and Dad manned the grill. It was the perfect ending to our weekend.

Now, we should be all caught up!

O.T.W. Celebration!

This weekend we celebrated my friend, Alana's, engagement to her sweetheart, Clint.

It has become somewhat of a tradition for our group of girlfriends to kick of wedding festivities in fashion. This is our fourth celebration, which leaves us with four more to go!

Our parents host the party, with Jonathan Bloom as the entertainment, and it's always held at The Lunch Bunch.

Mine and Ryan's Engagement Party was back in January of 2010 and Lacey and John's was in March of 2010. (Brittany's was back in '07 and I didn't blog back in those days so you'll have to trust me that it was just as fun)

Alana and Clint now live in Ohio, so we don't get to see them near as often as we'd like. They are completely smitten and it's good to know that Alana is off in Ohio surrounded by good people.

Our group of friends, sans Birttany.

The Moms (with Mr. Randy subbing in for Mrs. Patti)

The lovely couple! Clint and Alana

As evening progressed we kindly took over the mic for some serious singing action.

It was a great way to kick off the parties, showers, and teas to come in honor of the lovely couple!

Busy Bees

We had the most laid back weekend only to follow it up with the busy week ever.

One night celebrated Lacey and John's second wedding anniversary. John has been working in Oregon on a job so Lacey didn't have her honey boo boo in town to celebrate with so we picked up the slack.

Eight of us enjoyed an evening at Mikata. Saki Bombs may have happened.

We said yet another and final farewell to Jackson over dinner and drinks one night. He made the long journey to Indiana yesterday to prepare to start his new job next week.

Here's how Jack felt about it:

Because he had this cool new bag to carry his stuff in:

Ali couldn't even talk about it. She was just too sad.

Ryan decided to bury his sorrows about Jackson leaving in a bottle. (not the best way)

And Clay, well, he was just in stunned silence.

Finally, last night we celebrated the fact that, Alana, and her fiance, Clint, are home for the weekend!!!

Which turned into an all out sock bun party!

Whew, it's tough being so busy but having such sweet friends and family to be busy with makes it worth while! Even though I kind of feel like this today:

TGIF! Have an awesome weekend.

O.T.W. Laid Back

Ryan and I had one of the most laid back weekends we've had in quite some time.

It was much needed. We didn't have plans, we didn't have friends in town, we didn't have to worry about anyone but us!

We had dinner dates each night. We've caught up on our TiVo. We've laid around. We hit the lake for a bit. I shopped. Ryan watched sports.

Perfection. Much needed.

Maggie Turned 21 (in dog years)

She didn't really have a rager or anything, but she did have lots of snacks.

We aren't sure exactly which day of the month is her birthday, just that it was in July sometime.

We told her happy birthday close to everyday and hooked her up with some kind of cool treat like a pizza combo (buy some of those the next time your at the gas station late night-- you won't regret it), a piece a mac-n-cheese here or there, or maybe a birthday bone. It's been super random and Maggie has no idea what in the world has been going on.

I think she's pretty much trained at this point to hear Happy Birthday and assume that a treat is sure to follow.

We love her.

The Olympics 2012

Who is loving the Olympics? Because I AM!!

God Bless America, I tell you. I get so fired up and I'm like Yes America you are awesome!

Between Missy Franklin qualifying in one swim and cooling down in the dive pool (which is, according to the commentators, unheard of) and then winning freaking gold ten minutes later and the USA Girls' Gymnastics kicking butt last night against a very sad Russia- I don't even know what to think.

I do know this much-- all these hot bods all up on the TV screen each night make me a little more motivated in the gym. I've been dabbling in the Kross Fit, which is a post unto it self.

If you want to read a juicy article about all the sex that apparently happens in Olympic Village CLICK HERE. According to the article over 100,000 condoms are issued in Olympic Village. The article is a little long but worth the read in terms of crazy.

Ryan's favorite sport is Men's Gymnastics.

Just kidding. I've been joking with him all week that it's his favorite so I had to share.

In the meantime here's the video of the US Swimmers singing Call Me Maybe

O.T.W. Bye to Dirty Pop, Hello to Charlie, & GO USA

Pretty full weekend last weekend.

I will sum it up for you rather quickly.

Friday night we had a going away party for Jackson. He has taken a job with a company that is going to move him all over the US. First stop for him is Indiana. This is a great opportunity for Jack and bittersweet for his boo, Ali.

Jack, I'm sure you read SFJ (that's short for Stage Fright Jitters) in your free time. Once you move off you will have to check in often so that you're in the loop.

We all met up for the Farewell Party at the Fish Camp, hence the horseshoes, outdoors and random horse photo.

In the spirit of the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Olympics Friday night everyone was supposed to be dressed in US attire. I rocked my gold medal.  #GOUSA

My man won a little money by dominating in the horseshoe tournament.

On Saturday I spent my day with Lacey down at the lake. Saturday night we met up with all of our girlfriends for a Charlie Daniel's concert. It was a lot of fun.

Devil went down Georgia

I promise you, when we all of us girls get together it makes for a fun evening of nonsense.

We even ran into a high school classmate  a guy we didn't even know. So random.

Great weekend. Fun times.
