O.T.W-- Take Her Down to the Little White Church

Whirlwind weekend, I am here to tell you.

We went hard and made every second count. It was tough on this old broad, but I am a go-teamer and we had a bachelorette to celebrate.

We arrived in Nashville on Friday afternoon around 4:30, and hit the ground running.

Friday night we had dinner at The Tavern, which I would describe as an upscale sports bar. I dined on the Lobster Rolls and had no regrets.

After dinner we headed to the Broadway for bar hopping. First stop was The Stage on Broadway.

Next stop was Tequila Cowboy for some serious bull riding.

(don't worry we had a pair of shorts we shared so that no one was indecently exposed-- keep it classy yall)

As we got ready to leave Tequila Cowboy around 1:30 am, we realized a terrible storm had blown in to Nashville. So we grabbed a cab and took it on back to the hotel for safety.

In order for you to fully understand the severeness of the storm I reenacted it for you the next day.

These are what the tress/bushes look like in front of the hotel on a normal basis:

Disregard the lighting. You can still take note of the upright tree/bush

This is what they looked like as we were running in to the hotel during the wee hours:

Scary stuff!

We were drenched in a matter of seconds from running from the taxi to the hotel. After harassing the front desk about getting in the basement, we were assured that there was no tornado and that the hotel had proper safety protocol in place in the event of a tornado.

We eventually went upstairs to our rooms and were just wild and crazy. The next morning we decided that we must have been the only people on that particular hall because we were SO LOUD and wild.

After what I call a brief nap (because a few hours of sleep does not qualify as sleeping soundly) we eased out of bed. At that point some of us enjoyed the buffet down stairs and then we regrouped to hit the town.

Appetizers and cocktails were enjoyed at Rippy's Ribs so that we could watch part of the Auburn Football game.

From Rippy's we ventured on over to the ever touristy Tootsie's (because what's a trip to Nashville without it).

I somehow got called out to join the singer on stage for a rendition of Kenny Chesney's Come Over. I can check that off the life list.

I did a little improvising and sang this version: Come over, come over, come over, Ryan Sanford, cooommmmee ovverrrr.

I will probably be getting some offers to go "big" within the next week or so.

We only intended to stay at Tootsie for an hour or so but several hours later we emerged ready to take on the world.

After some lingerie partying (which was naughty indeed) we headed to Whiskey Kitchen for dinner.

After dinner we went back to Broadway to The Big Bang Piano Bar for some serious fun!

It was a rowdy weekend. A good ole honky tonkin' good time! Now, we just have to get Alana married off to her main man, Clint.

Weekend Outlook: Nashville Bound

I'm hitting the road around lunch today to head to Nashville for my wild, red-headed, friend, Alana's Bachelorette Party.
Alan as Miley Cyrus 2008

For one night (of the two) on the town the MOH asked that we all wear a pink dress of our choosing. I'm on board with any fun coordinating bachelorette nonsense, but a pink dress did not live in my closet. I'm not really a pink dress kind of girl.

Hence, the search for a pink dress ensued...

I found one at TJ Maxx, ordered one off of Tobi, ordered one from F21, and bought one locally.

Yes, you read that right I went from NO pink dress to FOUR pink dresses. I a little crazy maybe.

Here they are in no particular order. I will have a full report next week regarding our weekend in which I will reveal the winner and which ones I sent back.

80's Throwback, a little too much?

High low in a darker pink?

How about a short jumpsuit in NEON pink?

Or maybe this black and pink number?

So which one do you think is the winner?
I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. I will be knocking around Nashville in a pink dress of some sort. TGIF!!

OTW- Magical Curls

Over the weekend...

....I celebrated with friends!

Friday I took the day off of work and loaded the car down for a weekend of fun with the girls!

My journey started out by heading north to Birmingham to attend Deidra's graduation from Pharmacy School.

Dr. Deidra Baird will be medicating folks in the Central Alabama region very soon. What an accomplishment!

After the graduation ceremony we had lunch with her family and hit the road heading south.

We were bound for Seaside, Florida to celebrate our with sweet friend, Hadley! It was her bachelorette weekend.

It was an action packed. As soon as we arrived Friday afternoon we changed clothes, freshened up a bit and hit the town. We had dinner at  V followed by drinks and fun at Bud and Alley's.

Greyhounds all around!

Bless this little rickshaw driver's heart. We forced him to cruise us around and then man handled him.

Saturday morning came early. We each took a moment to rank how we were feeling in the form of a letter grade. Let's just most of us work up feeling rough, ranking closer to D's and F's. It was tough.

But we pulled it together and hit the beach for a full day of sun and sand. By the day's end we were all at an A+!

We literally spent the ENTIRE day on the beach. From about 10:30 am until after 7 pm. It was awesome.

Bride to be!

As is the norm for a bachelorette party not all details can be exposed on such a public forum, but just know we had a good ole naughty time!

O.T.W- A Cottage Escape

We loaded up over the weekend and headed to Gulf Shores, AL for a girls weekend get-away!!

Friday happened to be my mom's birthday so we got to celebrate that and Saturday we had a little bachelorette bash for my cousin.

I love the beach and all that it entails. Seafood? Yes please! Florabama? How I've missed thee! Waves upon my feet? Why, I think I'm in heaven!!

We went a different route this beach trip. We normally rent a condo right on the beach but since there were nine of us going we felt like a house would be a better option. My cousin, Lane, mentioned staying in one of the cottages at the Alabama Gulf State Park. It was a much better deal price wise and would house everyone comfortably.

I was a little unsure what type of living conditions we would have for the weekend, but I was going for it.

You see, when I think state park I think rustic wood cabin and communal bathrooms. Let me tell you how wrong I was!!

We stayed in the Gulf Shores State Park Lakeside Cottages and they were so. stinkin. cute!! I loved it!!!

Check out our little weekend abode:

Three bedrooms and three baths.

Coffee was consumed one of the two screened in porches.

We didn't see any aligators but mom did check for any signs of them.

Friday night we had dinner at DOC's Seafood and hit up the infamous FLORABAMA. Bushwackers were downed and dancing was done!

Shrimp Boil!!
Deidra got a little flirtatious with B, the Cowboy.

He was a cutey.

Aunt Elaine met a guy... who apparently told her a secret...

... and then fell asleep. I'm telling you Florabama is filled with all kinds of people. You never know who you might cross paths with.

Saturday we had breakfast at the cottage and then hit the beach.

It was so HOT. I'm talking So. Freaking. HoT. But we just got in and out of the ocean to stay cool.

Saturday night we hosted a little bachelorette party for my cousin, Anna. She had a great time.

To wrap up the weekend we hit up Live Bait for karaoke and made one last pit stop at Florabama.

Overall the weekend was so much fun. I loved being at the beach with family and friends for a girls' weekend. Sometimes we all just need a little time away!!
