O.T.W. Catch up Post (two weekends/weeks coming at you)

Ah man, it's been nonstop for Ryan and I the last few weeks. From football games and tailgate parties to wedding showers and fashions shows we've been covering a lot of ground around these parts.

And to even think that the holidays are practically here is just craziness!

So let's play catch up since I've been MIA for a hot minute.

HIT UP A CONCERT

 

Thanks to my brother who provided tickets for everyone we enjoyed Easton Corbin, Deirks Bentley and Craig Morgan.

Ali, Deidra and I joined my brother and a few of his friends for a fun night of good ole country music. That's what I love about Sundays...

CELEBRATED WITH ALANA & CLINT

My friend, Alana's wedding is quickly approaching. She and her fiance live in Ohio. They came home one weekend so that we could enjoy a bridal tea in Alana's honor as well as enjoy a tailgate themed couples shower for the two of them.

We may or may not have had a dance off with the moms in attendance. #momswon

CO-HOSTED WITH LACEY FOR "GIRLS NIGHT OUT"

Lacey and I co-hosted for the second time on At Home with Kenny Dean.

 

Lacey and I both had crazy jackets to wear during one segment of the show. I went the the leopard (above, picture of me in said jacket while getting ready) that I actually thrifted.

Topics for this show ranged from "Twists on the Classic Turtle Neck" to "How to Rock Printed Hosiery"

It is so much fun. I like to think we're a big hit in our small town.

MODELED IN A FASHION SHOW

Two of our local boutique type stores hosted a joint fashion show as a fundraiser for Alexander City's Education Foundation. Thanks to my TV co-host, Lacey, I found myself modeling for the store Little Black Dress.

Oh Look! I added a personal touch from my very own closet-- polka-dotted hoses!

After a few glasses of wine I found that if I were only a foot taller (I'm only about 5'3") I probably would have loved being an actual model. Except I like to eat and real models probably don't chit chat with onlookers in attendance (you know my mom and bff were in the audience).

TAILGATED FOR AUBURN/GEORGIA GAME

Ryan and I headed to The Plains for the Auburn v. Georgia game. We had such a fun weekend with friends that we hadn't seen in a few months.

Please note, the blazer in the middle pic above-- It's from 2005. I shopped my closet and found a fun little gem.

I love Auburn with my whole heart, but this season has been a tough one--- I will be glad to see it go.

The best part about the actual game (outside of who I attended it with- ALI) was the hot dog.

O.T.W. AU vs. LSU

Good Monday to you.

Let's talk about what an awesome weekend Ryan and I had.

Friday night we stayed in, caught up on our DVR and had a pizza party. Perfection.

We turned in early because we had a big day ahead of us on Saturday.

Ryan and I were in Auburn by 10:00 a.m. Saturday ready for a day of tailgating nonsense. It was such a fun day.

Ready to take on the day; Blair, moi, Brittany, Kristen;  Katie Beth and me. 

I was so excited to get to see my BF, Katie Beth. This is crazy but I haven't seen her in real life since last football season. So I was super stoked to get to hug her neck.

Ali and I went to to the game while Ryan stayed behind at the tailgate spot to watch the game on TV.  Ali and I cheered our hearts out in an attempt to pull us through. It was a stressful game, but I had packed medicine in the form of bourbon minis so we were able to take a little bit of the stress off.

It was close. So close, but LSU came out on top with a score of 12-10. I was proud of our Tigers for holding their own. (although Ryan says there is no such thing as a moral victory--just wins and losses)

After the game Ali and I headed to SkyBar for a couple of drinks, but it was so crowded that we finally decided it would be more fun to ease next door for a little healthy late night snack of McDonald's. #quarterpounderlatenight

Sunday was definitely a day of rest for this gal. It took it out of me but was oh so worth it.

It was a great weekend. I love football season!!

O.T.W. Auburn Football

Saturday Ryan and I ventured to Auburn for the Auburn vs. La. Monroe game. 

It was a beautiful day for football, albeit a little on the HOT side. I have sunburn lines in the shape of my dress to prove it. 

Auburn is having a tough year and I fear it's only going to get harder as we go up against even harder SEC Teams. I love my Tigers though and stand behind them 100%. It's hard to sit in a stadium and hear fans turn super negative during a game. 

It might be a very long season but the again we might just miraculously turn it around and dominate win several big games! Let's stay positive Auburn Fans.

Catching Up Post...(not an original title)

I'm way behind on my blogging. Some times in life we just have to live in the present without regard to blog content. Right?

So here's a catching up post for you.

A couple of weekends ago Ali came to town and spent the weekend with Ryan and I. We had cocktails, shopped,  feasted on sushi and enjoyed more cocktails.

The following Monday (Aug. 20) we had a Mexican Fiesta for Deidra, as she turned another year older!

Chips and salsa, a good ole margarita, and good people is a winning combination for me (and Deidra's birthday).

Over this past weekend I attended a family reunion on my Dad's side of the family. It was so great to get to hear the different stories of my dad and his siblings and cousins growing up (the spread of home cooked goodness wasn't too shabby either).

After the reunion we rode by our farm for a little bit. My Uncle John has built an outhouse (just for fun).

And it's not your typical outhouse... he made sure it was a double-seater. 

He's also included a 1994 Sears Catalog for one's reading pleasure. 

Hilarious.

Sunday was my sweet mama's birthday so we celebrated!

I handled the side dishes (twice baked potatoes, 7 layer salad, homemade chocolate pound cake) and Dad manned the grill. It was the perfect ending to our weekend.

Now, we should be all caught up!

I worked my butt off over the weekend.

Ryan and I (with a tiny bit of help from his sister, Ali) painted our bedroom. Ryan said we had to finish before the 2:00 that afternoon and we almost did.

I didn't take any "before" shots, but the room was Sherwin William's Cafe Latte and now it is Valspar's Seaside Villa. So basically we went from a brownish/khaki to a blue/gray.

While Ali was helping hold down the bed she snapped this picture with her iphone of me in action.

Please note how I'm holding that paint can. So dainty, I am.

On Sunday, I finished the project I've been working (with help of my assistant Deidra) the past two Sundays. Hopefully, I will be able to share pictures of that this week. Let's just say it involved a lot of sanding, painting, and staining.

O.T.W.-Wishing I was 21

My sweet sis-in-law hit a major mile stone over the past weekend. She turned the big 2-1!! She's the youngest of Ryan's siblings (ryan's the oldest).

We've been talking about Ali finally becoming "legal" for months. Planning to spend the weekend celebrating in Auburn.

Well, I went all in. I wanted to pretend I was turning 21 as well. We ate dinner at a favorite hot spot, Mikata. Sushi, cocktails, hibachi grill, fried rice = happy place!! Dinner really set the tone for the evening.

After dinner, we took it to an apartment party... I'm telling you, I felt like I was back in college reliving a Friday night. We stayed at the apartment for a while before heading downtown. We went to another old haunt, Sky Bar. At every turn-- waiting in line to get in, in the front bar, the back bar-- I saw old faces. It was beautiful.

After Sky Bar, Deidra and I decided to venture to meet some other friends at "Speak Easy" (it used to be "In Italy" for those of you who might not be in the loop).

At Speak Easy we danced, and sang and carried on...  after dinner we headed to my friend, Kaci's house for a slumber party. When I was in school at Auburn I lived with Kaci. We stayed up until close to 4 o'clock in the morning just chatting. It was so great to get to catch up with my old roomie... it was just like old times.

Saturday morning came fast and hard, but we rallied and got up to catch ESPN's College Gameday, which happened to be in Auburn over the weekend {however, we watched it on TV while enjoyed bfast casserole, as Firday night's nonsense slowed us down a little bit}.

Saturday consisted of tailgating and debauchery...

It was a beautiful weekend, all around. Ali became a grown up. I pretended not to be one... It couldn't have been any better.

My cousin is expecting a baby in November and it's going to be a little boy so on Sunday we celebrated by honoring Baby Heath! I love a baby shower that includes a glass or wine or margarita for the party goers! Yes, Please!

The baby shower was beautiful and Baby Heath got lots of great things!

The tough part is that his Daddy is already trying to make him an Alabama fan....
