Frock Star

I love changing nail polish colors and even trying the latest trends...

So it was only natural that I jump on the bandwagon that is Sally Hanson's Nail Effects.

I definitely had my doubts, as I would rather spend $8 on a bottle of nail polish that I can touch up and even use more that once.

However, I'm hard on my nails. As in, I get a Mani on Tuesday and I have freaked it up by Thursday.

So I thought this weekend would be a good one to test the Nail Effects. The product says it can last up to 10 days before chipping!

Friday night I sat down to a little Housewives action on the telly while I "stuck" on some Frock Star Nail Polish Strips.

It is super glittery.
They were super easy to apply and so far they've held up better than any nail polish. I mean, this past weekend was pretty tough... I have swam, jumped off docks, played flip cup, Bar-B-Qued, and all out raged and I only have a minor chip or two to show for it.

I'm thinking Kitty, Kitty just might be in my future. Purrrrrrrrrrr!

Overall, I'd say the Nail Effects were a major success and more than worth the eight bucks!!

Holla Back Frock Stars!

O.T.W- MD 2011

Whew... what a weekend.

Around these parts Memorial Day is a big deal. It's the official kick off to summer. Friends load up and come from all around to congregate at the lake.

A detailed agenda was sent out weeks in advance, outlining what food to bring, where to be, and what to expect. We bring our A-Game for MD. This year we even had koozies made for everyone. (if you are interested in a koozie let me know I can send one your way for only $3, as we had few extras).

Saturday we were invited to spend the day at The Bain's. Mrs. Debbie and Mr. Jim are always kind enough to host a BBQ for everyone each year.

Check out the cool koozies.

It was crazy how many of us showed up in yellow bathing suits. Who knew that was the latest trend?

Upon returning from a long day on the boat we feasted like kings. I think we all literally inhaled our food... and then decided to have a rowdy game of Flip Cup.

BRING IT!!

Ryan celebrating a win for his team!! That's why I love him. He takes any and all competitive sports very seriously!

On Sunday we ventured down to Mr. Scotty and Mrs. Jane's for a fun filled day!! It just doesn't get any better!
Lacey and John Howell at the MD celebration!!

And Sunday Night hit up a concert at the Lake Martin Ampitheater.

In all honesty it was a GREAT weekend. Good friends together for good times... Toss in some good food, a few cocktails, and beautiful weather and I'm in my happy place!

God Bless the USA!!

Amazing Story

I just teared up at my desk thinking of how amazing it is that Mason made it home. Whisked away by a tornado, two broken legs, gone for two and half weeks... and found his way home. I can't get over it.

Ryan and I often joke that if Maggie ever managed to get away from us she wouldn't be able to find her way back home because she would be so excited to just be wild and free. But after a story like this I think my stance on that might just change. Mason must be a really well loved dog.

O.T.W.

Over the past weekend...

We didn't do much of anything. Nothing worthy of a picture or really even a post, however my loyal fans (read: mom and grandmother) are inquiring as to why I haven't posted this week.  So here I am!!

On Saturday I laid by the pool. It just felt right.

On Sunday I steaked down 80 feet of edging. Ryan and I have recently planted some shrubs and put out mulch, so I felt it was only right to give the job a finished look. Talk about hot... I sweated my rear end off!

Not me pictured below, just some random woman via google; however, you get the gist.

The job is almost done... we still have the left side of the house to go, but we're making progress.

Then Monday rolled back around.. all too quickly if you ask me and I found my self back at work swampped with paper work, phone calls and office bullsh nonsense.

But alas, today is hump day and that means were about half way there which feels good because 'there' is the weekend and this weekend is MD.  Holla Back.

O.T.W.-- Down by the Sea

Ryan and I had an amazing weekend in Destin, Florida over the weekend. We headed down on Friday and returned on Tuesday. It was a relaxing five days at the beach.

I must preface this post with a bit of an explanation.... Most of you know and love Ryan like this:

However, to change things up a bit the first thing Ryan did on our first morning there was this:

And in the end he looked like this:

I honestly felt like I was off with some other guy... it has been so long since I've seen his face!

We spent our days sitting on the beach. I read magazines and books, we had drinks and listened to music, and ocassionlly we would venture into the deep blue sea.

We parked our beach chairs right in front of the Tiki Bar each day, so as to be close to the cocktails.

I got Ryan a NOOK for his little anniversary prize. He loved it!

I'm a little bit of a scaredy cat in the ocean... I'm always on the look out for what might be lurking in the water!

Our evenings were filled with dinner and drinks at The Back PorchHarbor Docks, Vin'tij's (on our anniversary), and Stinky's Fish Camp. I'm going to be honest, Stinky's had me a little nervous, what with the name and all, but it was so good. Ryan's bff Chase suggested it and we sure are glad he did.

On our actual wedding anniversary Ryan and I returned to the condo to feast on our wedding cake. I was a little apprehensive as I assumed it would be no good since it had been frozen for a year but we forged ahead and it was still okay.

I must admit that on Sunday I had a good bit of wine at dinner and really dwelled on how well the cake held up for a year... it was even sparkely still.  However, as I am looking at these pictures now, I'm not so sure it was in as good of condition as I made out. I'm not sure the reason people eat year old cake to celebrate  a year of marriage but I hope it's for goood luck or lots of money in the future...

Overall we had the best vacation together.  Here's to all the vacations and anniversaries to come!
